life forever and for the better. I read a part of it every

night and I am on the second time round already!”

“When I was at secondary school I was presented with a copy of the
New Testament and Psalms. For many years I kept this Bible either in
a drawer or in my bag during times of trouble. I left school at 15 and
fell pregnant within eight months. Unmarried, teenage, single parent.
My life began to spiral out of control. Drink, drugs, promiscuity, and sin
became my existence. I was in the midst of a battle between God and
Satan. My own fearful and sinful nature was dragging me to hell, and I felt
paralysed to stop it. God was calling me, but I decided to find the answer
to my troubles in the bottom of whisky, vodka, wine, and cider bottles.
The only “tool” I had was my New Testament and Psalms. Every word I
read strengthened my love and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Saviour. He has turned my life around. I am now a member of an amazing
church family and was baptised this year. I have been re-born and saved
by my glorious Father.’’ Shona
