JERRY FIELD – TESTIMONY
During the memorial service of his parents, who had both died in a plane crash when
Jerry was only 11 years old, Jerry encountered the Holy Spirit. “I just knew that He
(Jesus) is alive, and loves me and He’s going to bring something good out of this.”

           GAVIN CALVER – EVANGELICAL ALLIANCE
As Gavin took to the stage to share God’s message to us, he asked for God to bless the 55 youth who were
attending CONNEXIONS 25. “We thank you Lord that 86% of people who come to know the Lord are under 25.
We’re here Lord, would you use us and move among our young people we pray.”
“The Lord is not looking for Superheroes, he is looking for the willing. Like Isaiah, here we are, use us, Lord.”
Gavin shared that if we really want to see what’s possible in this nation and beyond, we need to be more like
Philip. Being prepared to go to the unlikely. Gavin reminded us to not live by yesterday’s rules in today’s world,
it’s time to be vocal. He shared that when he was going through particularly difficult times, he said to the Lord,
“I’m done. It’s too hard. I can’t do it. I can’t cope.” The Lord replied to him “I never said it would be easy. I said
that I’d be with you. We’re not even nearly done.”
He reminded us that we need to keep going. Life is full of obstacles. Be patient, He has a plan.
“The obstacles didn’t stop us, the storm wasn’t the end, we kept pushing through. Sometimes
it’s not the storm that defines us but finding a way through it with Jesus to an outcome beyond
what we could ever have imagined.”

                                   JULIAN HAINES
Julian asked us to consider the word “Encouragement” to encourage one another
“Well I want to tell you this… God put something on my heart, and what he said was
this… Step up and step out.” Mark 12: 25-34

           DES PILLING - TESTIMONY
Des was 14, at high school when he was given his New Testament. His head teacher
shared the Scriptures with the school and Des realised that he knew that he was a
sinner. “The seed was sown there and then.” Des said that for 7 years following that,
he read the pages of his New Testament. Two years later, Des felt the Holy Spirit call
him to be a Street Evangelist.

                                    IAIN MAIR – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
When visiting Lima in Peru, Iain and his wife Jenny visited the Police Stations to
distribute Scriptures and pray with the officers and administrators. During a meeting,
Iain was invited to share God’s Word; every attendee gave their heart to Jesus. Later
that day, Iain heard that the Pastor of the local church, had received a request from
the Police Commander, to visit on a regular basis, and conduct Bible studies with the
officers. “Why do I share this at the end of CONNEXIONS 2025? It’s for this reason.
The Saturday before we arrived at that Police Station, the church we were working
with had spent the night in prayer and fasting, seeking the Lord to open the doors
of the police station and to give us success in our work. A night of Prayer.” Iain invited
everyone to remember our second Spiritual Objective. To be Men & Women of Prayer.

MARK MAIR – GIVING THANKS TO JULIAN
For 15 years Julian has been the one thanking people for all their hard work at
CONNEXIONS. It is our turn to thank him for his dedication. This is an important
thank you, as this year (2025) is the last that Julian will be coordinating. These
weekends are very special, and all of Julian’s experience helps to create all that we
enjoy. With thanks to Margaret, Julian’s wife for her unwavering support. “We want to
thank you both, and hope that you continue to enjoy more of these weekends in the
future, with the privilege of being able to sit down for more than 5 minutes at a time.”

                                                                                                              21
