In 2021 the communist government of Nicaragua asked ShareWord Global to give every schoolchild in the country a copy of God’s Word. Only God could have opened this door and in these last three years, over 900,000 children have heard the life-changing message of Jesus and received a Scripture through the local church. The country is slowly changing because of this. This project has been supported by GOOD NEWS for Everyone!
In September 2024, the government began restricting Christian activities and banned over 1,500 charities and churches. Their cash and their assets were confiscated and they had to cease operations. But that very same month ShareWord Global was asked by the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches (a government-approved entity) to make 1 million Scriptures available to the members of their 2,100 churches spread throughout the country. What a miracle this is. While other organisations are being banned, ShareWord Global is being presented with an even bigger open door to fill the gap and change the destiny of a whole country.
Last month Iain Mair, Executive Director, attended the launch of the ‘Fill the Gap’ campaign in Nicaragua, which GOOD NEWS for Everyone! has provided funds to support in partnership with ShareWord Global. Through this campaign, 1 million Scriptures will be made available to over 2,000 evangelical churches throughout the country as they seek to spread the Gospel in their local communities. Iain said, “At a conference of church leaders it was both very encouraging and very humbling to see the overwhelming gratitude of the pastors as they each received a quantity of Bibles to support the outreach of their churches. These Bibles had been paid for through the generosity of members, Friends, and other supporters of GOOD NEWS for Everyone!”
