GOOD NEWS for Everyone! recently supplied almost 4,000 Hope magazines to Blythswood, the Christian charity based in the Highlands of Scotland, for distribution through its charity shops in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Blythswood’s Chief Executive, Jeremy Ross, recognised that the Hope magazine is ideal for their policy of offering free Christian literature to every customer who uses their shops.
Preliminary contacts with GOOD NEWS for Everyone! were made through Rosshire East branch, in whose district Blythswood’s Head Office is situated, and then through local member John Garvie to the Region 1 Cabinet. The Region 1 Cabinet immediately recognised that the shared values and overlapping aims of our two organisations made partnership with Blythswood highly attractive for spreading God’s Word.
Encouraged by our positive response, Blythswood’s manager for Christian Literature and Publications, James MacDonald, requested sufficient magazines for their fifteen shops in Scotland and eight shops in N Ireland. 2,500 Hope magazines were soon delivered to Blythswood’s depot at Deephaven on the Cromarty Firth and 1,350 to its main Irish depot at Ballyclare, County Antrim. Blythswood’s charity shops will each receive their quota of magazines through its own distribution network for sharing with customers from 15 May onwards.
