A CHALLENGE
BY GOD
In September 2022 Tim Brown, a local Pastor in Newcastle, emailed the Tyne
North Branch of GOOD NEWS for Everyone! to gauge their interest in facilitating
what he believed to be a challenge by God to place a Scripture in every household
in the country, beginning in Newcastle. Branch member Rob Wade contacted
Tim and arranged to meet.
As Tim shared the vision, Rob concurred with Tim that he believed God was indeed challenging
His church to fulfil His desire to get His Word out among our communities. A further meeting with
GOOD NEWS for Everyone! Executive Director Iain Mair and Chris Axelby, who was then Region 3
Director, was held in the summer of 2023 and led to “The Newcastle Explore Outreach Project.”
Peter Wright, the Branch Church Liaison Secretary, was asked to join Rob and Tim in planning
and developing the project and work began to contact the churches of Newcastle, inviting them
to participate in distributing in their parishes and areas of ministry. Rob, Tim and Peter take up
the story.
