RAF Centenary presentation
My wife, Sheila, and I visited RAF 100 Squadron in December 2018 to make a presentation in memory of my late father, Walter, who served in the RAF for over seven years, joining 100 Squadron in 1939. It was fitting that it was the year the RAF celebrated its 100th birthday, and that the following day would have been Walter's 100th birthday.

Friday Blessing
Hello All,
A few weeks ago, we received an email from Tony Lovering, Scripture Manager for The Gideons International, regarding the Christian Police Association National Day of Prayer.

Friday Blessing
This morning I decided to visit some friends who worship in St Clements Church in Neyland, Pembrokeshire.
As I sat by my friend Betty, a birthday card was handed to me to write a greeting in. I was told it was for Stan who will be 102 years old later this month.

Doncaster Rovers FC Report
November 2016 saw eight members from the Doncaster Branch of The Gideons present 300 Badged Testaments and 2 Badged Presentation Bibles to Doncaster Rovers Football Club (DRFC).

Youthful anniversaries
Members of the Lanarkshire North Branch have been busy recently, contacting and arranging presentations both to the Girls’ and Boys’ Brigades in their Area.
One such presentation was made to the Girls of the 4th Coatbridge Company at the Middle Church of Scotland, Coatbridge. It was their 70th Anniversary (1947-2017) and all sections of the Company received a Badged Testament.

We should take more risks
The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) is a familiar story. A master puts his goods in the hands of his servants whilst he is away from home. The story doesn’t say whether the master advised what to do with the wealth but it was significant. Greek, Roman and Babylonian talents differed slightly but basically the quantity was the same as the amount of water required to fill an amphora (large jar). The Babylonian talent was 30.3kg.

Spiritual aid for ambulance crews
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has 6,000 employees across the whole of Zone 2 (North West England) and is equal with London as the largest ambulance trust in the UK. Last August Diane Hardwick of the Rochdale Branch and David Perris of the Bolton Branch were invited to present Badged Testaments to Chief Executive, Derek Cartwright, and Chair of the Trust Board, Wyn Dignan.
