Please pray for my wife, Cath, who has been experiencing hip problems since around June but these have progressively increased and she is now suffering intense and excruciating episodes of pain. She visited the Consultant yesterday evening who confirmed that she needs a hip replacement (the old one is shot!!) and she is due to have the operation on Wednesday 4 December. Pray for our testimony and peace for her and a good outcome and for me that I will be able to adequately support her.

Praise God that through particularly the "fervent effectual prayers of many righteous Christian people", Cath has undergone successfuly a hip replacement this morning and is recovering well. To Him be all Glory.

Freshers Fair at Forth Valley College

The Branch's request to be represented at this year's event will be discussed at a Student Association meeting on 10th August.

Last year we were refused permission to be present. Please pray urgently that this year's request will have a favourable outcome

The Glasgow European Games started on Thursday 2nd August as did the Personal Witnessing Outreach by the Gideons.

Give thanks for the Scriptures accepted and for the personal witnessing opportunities used.

So far 1250 Personal testaments have been given out and many conversations engaged in.

Pray for those coming this week, for travel, courage and energy in the days ahead.

That the extra scriptures ordered will arrive on time. Also for the Bible app cards to help those whose first language is not English.

This Saturday 28/7  is our monthly Gideon meeting which will be in Rothesay on the Island of Bute and,  this year, we are taking an earlier ferry to hold a brief but significant prayer 'vigil' (13.15-13.45 BST)  outside the local secondary school where access for the Scriptures has been denied us for 5/6 years, with one exception.

If you see this in time, please will you join with us in prayer at that time that our Sovereign Lord will loosen the locks and open the doors so that the Scriptures may once again be welcome and be placed into the hands of these pupils right throughout the school and pray for the homes into which they need to go.  Please pray for Rothesay even if you didn't see this in time.

Praise God for over 80 members now registered to take part and that each Region is represented

Please pray for the following aspects of the final preparation:-

• Guidance as delivery routes and teams are planned.
• For church assignment details to be finalised
• For safety in travel for everyone taking part
• For open doors and many opportunities for personal witnessing

Trevor remains at home but must visit hospital 3 times a week for dialysis. These visits plus other non-routine visits and treatments are totally exhausting for him so that he sleeps much of the time and there is little evidence of improvement in his condition. Please continue to pray for him and his wife Christine who does not sleep well but is constantly caring for Trevor.

Brian's wife, Sheila has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Please pray for Brian and Sheila as they await results of investigations.

Please pray for the lunch to be held in the Southwark Cathedral Conference Centre on Thursday 14th June.

Over 20 church leaders are expected and we are seeking to obtain opportunities to give presentations in their services at the end of the Scripture Focus on Sunday 9th September.

We also want to enthuse them about the opportunities that exist for their own church members to be involved in the Gideon ministry.
